Director, Centre for Entrepreneurial Development Studies (CEDS)
Prof. Olaleke Oluseye Ogunnaike
With great delight, I welcome you to the Centre for Entrepreneurial Development Studies of Covenant University. Entrepreneurship has been found to be the difference between the developed and the undeveloped economies. It is imperative in Nigeria of today that being entrepreneurially skillful is a key to personal and economic development. This informed the Proprietor Base of Covenant University to conceive of embedding entrepreneurship studies in the curriculum from the inception of the University. The realization of the vision of Covenant University – “Raising a New Generation of Leaders” - is anchored on unique and custom built programmes, of which Entrepreneurial Development Studies (EDS) is one. The peculiarity of our EDS programme is the business-savvy, enterprise-driven graduates that are being raised from Covenant University, and the platform it has provided for network and linkage opportunities with the external context.
The main focus of the Entrepreneurial Development Studies (EDS) in Covenant University is the inculcation in the students the spirit and discipline of entrepreneurship. The scope covers all the students at various levels and programmes. The Centre also reaches out to the external context in the areas of capacity building, advisory services, mentoring and consultancy.
